Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment.

About
Mindful Breath Sangha was founded in November 2011 by a few dedicated individuals who wanted to further their studies and practice in the tradition of Plum Village, which was founded by Thich Nhat Hanh: Zen master, poet, and peace activist. This is a practice of engaged Buddhism and mindfulness in everyday life that works to show us the connection between deep personal peace and peace on earth. We are also open to lessons from other Buddhist teachers, if they are beneficial to us. We recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings once a month.
Now we have more members who are dedicated to keeping the sangha going for the next generation. We live in Athens-Clarke, Oconee, Barrow and other surrounding counties in Georgia. Others join our weekly meeting on Zoom, and we even have one member who joins us from the Netherlands.
Mindful Breath Sangha welcomes all who wish to attend. Whatever your religion, philosophy, spiritual path, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, country of origin, or political affiliation, your presence is welcomed. You are welcome to stop by and try out the sangha once or many times to see if it’s a good fit for you.
